The 2019 Autonomous Snowplow Competition officially started with the receipt of team applications,
which were due on 21 September 2018. This year’s competition officially ended after the final dynamic competition on
Saturday, 26 January 2019.
The Student Poster Presentation session was a big hit this year, as the more informal format allowed better displays of
team’s vehicles, improved judge and team interaction, and a livelier event. It will be considered to move to this format
for future presentation events.
The dynamic events on Saturday, 26 January 2019 were also a huge success. All teams were able to perform multiple
competition runs in a single day. Some teams ran five times in the single day! This is a big feat as in past years teams
only were required to run once per day.
The Collaborative Challenge was an interesting demonstration this year. Although several teams participated in this
demonstration event this year, only one team successfully navigated the square S-field in autonomous mode. Future events
using multiple vehicles on the same course without bumping into each other while avoiding obstacles will be exciting
to say the least!
Please refer to the competition Rulebook and venue information for competition and event details.
